Went in on a Sunday at 6pm and it was pretty empty. The food came out pretty fast and quick. This place is a self order and service spot. I got chicken& chilis with mild spice over noodles and it was still pretty spicy. The pieces of chicken tasted really good. I would enjoy it more if it's less spicy. The price was also not bad. This place is definitely one of those quick and easy lunch spot. Overall, this place is great for a easy and quick lunch.

Take out experience: Order online only or in person. No more order thru the phone. My mom really liked the pork and pickle mustard green (S8). Nice and clean restaurant. Very fast service.

Got a veggie hot and sour noodle soup and was super full after. For only $14-15 it's a great spot for a quick and flavorful bite! Place is super casual with about 5 tables. Order on a monitor and less than 10 min later your order is ready to be picked up from the window!

we ordered: *spicy squid w dry noodles $16.76 *hunan style sauteed beef $17.50 *squash mushroom tofu $8.45 *stir fried string beans $10.47 *hunan fried tofu $7.99 *cold sweet flower jelly $5.42 *sour plum tea $3.77 *unsweetened green tea $3.49 *apple soda $3.49 everything was so yum! this place is known for their variety of hunan noodles. my friend really enjoyed the beef w/ dry noodles and the squid w/ dry noodles. the least spiciest option was mild and that was pretty spicy for us lol. tofu and string beans were such good sides!! the drinks were good and i recommend trying the sour plum tea. it's definitely an acquired taste. I liked how it had a hint of sweetness and tartness to it but my friend did not like it. last but not least, the cold sweet flower jelly was so good omg, i highly recommend u get that. it had a hint of sweetness, and the soft jelly like texture made it so fun to eat. perfect way to end the meal! this is a fast casual spot, you order at the counter and they call your number when food is ready.

My family and I were checking out the Union Square Christmas Market and wanted some Chinese food & vegetables, so we stopped by Silky Kitchen. The interior is relatively spacious and very clean, and the place has a fast-casual vibe. There are several Hunanese noodle options that you can customize (e.g. broth or dry noodles, spice level, etc.), as well as some side dishes. We ordered the wood-ear mushrooms, the cucumber salad, and a stewed beef noodle soup, medium spicy. The portion is pretty large for the price (we paid ~$30 total), and the food is pretty good, though the noodles were a little too oily for my taste. Overall: a solid option for Chinese noodles if you're in the area and looking for something quick and relatively inexpensive!

Really decent size dishes - the mapo tofu was only $12 for a big ass portion and I added a side of noodles for $3 not knowing it already came with a side of rice. The spice of the tofu was okay, not too spicy and a heavy bean flavor. The texture of the noodles was maybe over cooked - the rice was much better!

You can order from the counter or order on a screen machine if you don't want to interact with anyone. They have quite a variety of options from appetizers to dumplings to rice and noodles. We got the Chairman Mao's braised pork with rice and there was a lot of meat. The sauce was yummy. The hot and sour fish noodles however were definitely the star. There were pickled vegetables that gave the broth a nice tangy flavor and the white fish was very good and meaty. The store is nice and clean.

One of my favorite places in East Village for a casual dine in meal or take out!!! The interior is very clean and service is fast and friendly. If you get take-out, all the food is packaged well (separates noodles from the broth so it doesn't get soggy). I absolutely love the pork & pickled mustard green noodles with soup. I get medium spicy and it's the perfect amount of heat and flavor. Also really like the stir fried chicken w/ chili paste noodles. If you get a fried egg and pickled vegetables on top... chefs kiss. So glad I discovered this place and can't wait to try out more dishes from the menu!
